Dr. Heri Kuswanto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics-Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Indonesia. Dr. Heri’s research is focused on extreme events (weather and climate) and climate modelling, in particular of heavy precipitation and drought related issues. He is also an expert on data analysis, econometrics time series and machine learning. Since 2017, Dr. Heri has been appointed as the Vice Head of the Association of Indonesian Expert on Disaster (IABI)- East Java Chapter, Indonesia. He is currently also the coordinator of Climate Change Working Group at the Center for Earth, Disaster and Climate Change (ITS). Dr. Heri has been the lead PI for many projects funded by international donors including DECIMALS Project funded by The World Academy of Science (TWAS)-SRMGI and Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) Project funded by USAID and National Academy of Science (NAS), USA. Dr. Heri has also been involved in some national projects on regional climate change related topics, coordinated by the Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Jakarta.
