Former Fellow, Harvard’s Solar Geoengineering Research Program
Britta Clark

Britta Clark is a PhD candidate in philosophy at Harvard and was a semester-long SGRP Fellow in 2021. Her research addresses a range of ethical and political issues raised by the climate crisis. Her dissertation aims to develop aspects of a theory of intergenerational justice that is fit to guide climate policy in deeply unjust circumstances.

During her time with SGRP, she focused on the intergenerational dimensions of solar geoengineering, a technology that could abate some of the short-term impacts of climate change yet also comes with significant long-term risks. Prior to Harvard, she earned a master’s in philosophy at the University of Otago in New Zealand on a Fulbright Fellowship and a bachelor’s degree at Bates College in Maine.
